Last Saturday's Chino Valley Champion published an article on another truck crossing the centerline of State Route 142 (Carbon Canyon Road) at the S-curves in Chino Hills and causing an accident (fortunately not causing significant injury, though it could have).
Incidentally, this blogger, just days later, had to do what was mentioned, pull over to the dirt shoulder at the curve in Sleepy Hollow—which is being left out of consideration regarding this problem of trucks crossing the centerline of the highway—when a semi moved into the opposing lane. It happens a lot more than people realize.
Note at the end of the article the quotes from CalTrans and a consultant about the widening of the highway at the proposed location, as well as the response from a City of Chino Hills spokesperson.
